European Patient Compliance Conference June 09 heats up
This week I will be co-chairing the Eye4Pharma Patient Relationship Marketing conference. It will be interesting on a number of levels:
1 – To see what, if anything, will be new this year in terms of successful adherence strategies
2 – To see how much people will disclose and really provide insight into what works and what doesn’t
3 – What is working in pharmacy, and how pharma and pharmacies can work together to achieve better outcomes for both parties.
One of the key things I think participants are looking for from this conference is a sense of whether they should consider investing in patient initiatives. What attendees are hoping to do is get a sense of the return, the risk, but also they are trying to remove uncertainties about how to successfully go about these sort of projects. Based on my experience of commercial conferences, its not that often people share their failures with you, and unless people are prepared to share ROI (which is not often the case) – its the answers to the ‘how’ question that are most valuable. And given that there are so many ways to tackle adherence challenges, its evaluating the most effective approach that is the priority.
So I expectantly await the conference, and I will come back with thoughts on the different presentations at the conclusion.
